Apples have always been a favorite of ours so here is a apple fruit smoothie that is loaded with them. We think this smoothie works best when using sweet apples like the Honeycrisp (first developed in Minnesota!), Keepsake, and McIntosh. But it really doesn’t matter what type of apple they are all good! This recipe is also packed with veggies for even more healthy nutritional value.
Apple Fruit Smoothie
- 1 cup apple juice
- 1 cup of sliced apple (use one of the varieties mentioned above)
- 1/4 cup applesauce
- 1/2 cup sliced carrots
- 1/2 cup of cucumber (peeled and sliced)
- 1-2 cups of ice depending on your desired consistency
- 1 tsp. Chia Seed
Blend until smooth. If you choose, garnish with either nutmeg or cinnamon.
