Whether you are a vegetarian or not fruit smoothies are a healthy and nutritious addition to any meal plan. There are, quite literally, thousands of recipes to choose from. Depending on the ingredients used, they are high in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. The apple juice smoothie recipe shown here is a simple, easily made recipe with a lot of healthy fruit nutrition.
In your favorite blender mix the following:
- 1 green apple cored and quartered
- 1 red apple cored and quartered
- 2 bananas
- Cup frozen or fresh strawberries
- 1-2 cups cold apple juice
Put all ingredients into the blender at the same time and mix until smooth. If your blender is a under-powered and has some issues, put the apples in one at a time.
For a colder mix freeze the bananas before making the smoothie. The tip here is to peel and slice the bananas BEFORE FREEZING!
