There are a lot of apple smoothie recipes and most are very good. This one uses both Apple cider and a dash of cinnamon to make it into a tasty fall treat.
This recipe also calls for a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed with a very wide nutritional footprint including antioxidants and heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids. Even better for the recipe is that, unlike flax, Chia has no taste of its own so adding it isn’t going to change the delicious results.
In your favorite blender mix:
-1 large sweet red delicious apple cut in chunks
-1/2 cup of chopped carrots
-1 cup cold apple cider
-1/4 cup of cinnamon flavored applesauce
-A dash of cinnamon
-1 tbsp. Chia seed
