Building an Apricot Peach Mango Smoothie, and why you really should try one:
Besides being really good to eat, Apricots also have a history of medicinal use through the centuries. In 17th century England, for example, the Apricot oil was frequently used to treat swelling, tumors, and ulcers.
Fast forward to today and the apricot’s role in medicine and healing has been greatly reduced but apricots still have a great deal of nutritional value and are a good addition to anyone’s diet.
In that spirit, this is an Apricot Peach Mango smoothie that will provide a whole lot of fruit goodness and nutrition as well as being a real treat.
In your favorite blender mix:
– 1 cup of frozen or fresh strawberries
– 2 apricots, peeled, seeded and cut in chunks
– 1 peach peeled, seeded and cut in chunks
– 1 cup of Apricot Mango yogurt (just to “top off” the fruit taste of the mix. We used the Dannon Greek nonfat brand.)
– 1 tbsp. Chia seed
