I was more than a little bit surprised to find this avocado banana spinach smoothie recipe ranking as one of our top 10 in 2015. But, on second thought, I guess I really shouldn’t have been. For a long time our internal tracking has always shown that the healthy and nutritious smoothies are more popular than the recipes with more calories. Not to say that the others don’t have their fans because they obviously do. But, all in all, the healthier the recipe the more people take a look at it. And this one is healthy as all get out!
Combining fruits and vegetables is not only tasty, but it also provides the vitamins and minerals of healthy fruit nutrition. For lunch tomorrow, or after working out, in your favorite blender mix:
- 1 big handful of fresh spinach
- 1 ripe avocado, peeled, cored and cut in chunks
- 1 large frozen banana (TIP: Peel and slice the banana BEFORE your freeze it!)
- 1 cup of cold Dole Pineapple-Orange Banana Juice
- 1 tbsp.Chia seed
NOTE: We used Dole brand juice only because it was in the fridge, if you have another brand it won’t matter a bit.
