Of course, there are any number of chocolate smoothies and an equally large number of smoothies using Avocado but this combined avocado chocolate smoothie recipe is a bit unique. Honestly, it isn’t often that avocados and chocolate are mixed in anything!
As you can tell from the ingredients, this isn’t really a low calorie smoothie. But it is really creamy and tasty and hits the spot as a dessert or treat.
In your favorite blender mix:
- 1 avocado, pitted
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 2 Tbsp. melted chocolate chips (melt by microwaving on 5 for about a minute. Stir and continue on 5, stirring every 15 seconds or so until fully melted)
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups milk (your choice of type; almond milk tastes great)
- 1 Tbsp. Chia seed
- Ice to taste
Put everything except the ice in the blender and mix until smooth. Add ice and mix again until the smoothie has the consistency you prefer and Viola! A frosty, tasty Avocado Chocolate smoothie!
