If you have previously used Avocado only for Guacamole, salads, and other traditional used then you have been missing another use for the Avocado as a smoothie ingredient. This creamy and delicious fruit (yes, it is actually a fruit) will provide a wide range of vitamins, phytonutrients, and minerals. The Avocado has 0 Trans fat and only 1/2 gram of saturated fat. And they are very low in calories as well, a medium sized avocado has only 50 calories. And, it mixes really well in this avocado smoothie recipe with lemon and other good stuff!

This smoothie recipe pairs the avocado with lemon for a really interesting result. It is probably not the best breakfast recipe but it works very well later in the day.

If you choose, you can add a tablespoon of Chia seed to this avocado smoothie recipe as well. Including Chia will add a great deal more nutritional value including hearth healthy omega-3 fatty acids. And Chia has no taste of its own so it will just fade into the recipe without changing the results at all.

In your best blender mix:

– 2 avocados, peeled, seeded and cut in small chunks
– Juice from one lemon (or you can use the lemon juice squeeze in place of fresh)
– 1 cup of chilled Vegetable Stock
– Dash of Olive oil, pinch salt, and cayenne pepper for seasoning
– 1 Tbsp. Chia seed (optional)
