At its core this recipe is a simple banana yogurt smoothie. But, in best smoothie tradition, it adds in chilled pomegranate juice to provide a really different taste. Easy to make, just combine the ingredients in your smoothie blenderr and mix until creamy.
Optionally, you can add a tablespoon of Chia seed to turn this treat into a nutritional powerhouse. Chia seed offers a lot of valuable nutrition including antioxidants and cholesterol fighting, heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have any real taste of its own so adding it is not going to change the very unique taste results!
Pour into a chilled glass and serve!
1 cup of plain or vanilla low-fat Greek yogurt
1 cup of chilled pomegranate juice
1 large banana cut in chunks
1 Tbsp. Chia seed (Optional)
