Blueberries, rich with antioxidants combine nicely with apples for a refreshing tasty Blueberry Apple smoothie. The apples will be the key how sweet or tart. If you like sweets-try a red delicious apple, and maybe even add a touch of honey. But, if you like that lip-smacking tart flavor, use a green granny smith for the perfect “wake-up” call. In your blender, mix:
1 cup of frozen blueberries
1 cup of apple juice
1 teaspoon of Chia seed so you are sure to add healthy Omega 3’s to your diet!
Blend until smooth and enjoy!
If you choose to use fresh blueberries over frozen you might need to add ice cubes to thin out your smoothie.
