Breakfast smoothies are maybe the perfect way for you to start your day in a nutritionally positive way. Breakfast smoothies can be made with just about any combination of fruit, juices, even veggies. The possible combinations are almost without end which means you’re never without something new to try.
Take, for just on example, this Banana and Mango Fruit smoothie recipe. With both bananas and mangoes, it has a creamy consistency and a mildly sweet taste that many prefer. Like most smoothie recipes, it is very easy to make and doesn’t leave a big mess behind that needs to be cleaned up.
If you so choose, you can turn this recipe into a nutritional powerhouse simply by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed to the mix. Chia is a natural powerhouse of nutrition including cholesterol fighting, heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids. Even better for the recipe, Chia has no specific taste of its own so adding it to the mix won’t change the tasty results at all.
In your favorite blender mix:
- 1 cup mango chunks
- 1 previously Frozen banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup of Peach Mango juice (Both Dole and V8 make a delicious juice)
- 1 tablespoon Chia seed
If you are using fresh fruit (not frozen) you might need to add a little more juice or a few ice cubes to the mix to thin it out a bit.
