Obesity is at epidemic levels and our national health levels have never been lower. One of the reasons for all this is that we have strayed far from what constitutes a healthy and balanced diet. One answer to this problem can be this Broccoli Carrot smoothie. For even more nutrition you can add a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia provides a great deal of vitamins and minerals including hearth healthy omega-3 fatty acids. And, since Chia doesn’t have any real taste of its own it will virtually disappear into the smoothie and you won’t even know its there.

  • 4 Broccoli florets
  • 1 Carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 1 Apple, cored and quartered
  • 1 large Orange, peeled and quartered
  • 1 cup Orange Juice (fresh if possible
  • 1 tbsp. Chia seed
