There is a lot to like with this carrot smoothie. To begin with it is very easy to make with just a few ingredients. Then, the ingredients themselves aren’t usually found in a single recipe but that is what makes it so very tasty!
Finally, the recipe can be turned into a nutritional powerhouse simply by adding a single tablespoon of Chia seed. Unlike flax, Chia doesn’t have any noticeable taste on its own so adding it is not going to change the results. And, Chia has a very wide nutritional footprint including both antioxidants and heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids.
In your favorite blender mix:
-Handful of fresh spinach
-1 cup of grated carrots
-Large frozen banana, peeled and sliced (TIP: Peel and slice BEFORE FREEZING)
-Cup of cold Apple juice
-Tbsp. Chia seed (Optional)
