Banana Apple Lemon Smoothie
As we have said before, and will undoubtedly will say again, maybe the best thing of all about smoothies is that they afford the opportunity to mix a number of different and diverse ingredients that normally wouldn’t be in the same recipe. Just one example is this banana apple lemon smoothie mix.
Some of the apple in this recipe comes from apple cider so it is great for the fall months. All three fruits in this mix are popular in their own right but, mixed together in a smoothie, they compliment each other in a very tasty and satisfying way.
In your favorite blender mix:
- 1 Frozen Banana (TIP: Peel and Slice the Banana BEFORE Freezing!)
- 1/2 cup Apple Cider
- 1 Apple, cored and sliced ( Your chooice, I used A Granny Smith and it was really good)
- 2 Tbsp. natural honey (more or less on your sweet tooth)
- 1 cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt (low fat if your watching)
- 1 Tbsp. Chia seed
Because of the frozen banana and the apple you may find that you get better results from your blender if you feed the ingredients in one at a time rather than all at once. Also, if the mix is to thick, add ice cubes until you get the consistency you like.
