Here is a cherry smoothie recipe that blends two really good flavors into one really good smoothie. This Cherry and Almond recipe is a good afternoon snack or maybe even a breakfast smoothie.
The Chia Seed is optional but using it adds a great deal of nutrition. Ounce for ounce, Chia offers more hearth healthy omega-3 fatty acids than salmon. This little seed is also gluten free and has only a trace amount of sodium. Best of all, Chia has no real taste of its own so adding it to this Cherry Almond Smoothie won’t change the delicious results. It will just disappear into the mix while still delivering its nutritional punch.
In your favorite blender mix:
- 1 1/2 cups Almond Milk
- 13 ounces pitted cherries
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- bit of cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Chia seed
- Ice to Taste (1/2 cup maybe?)
