There are a number of chocolate smoothie recipes around that make use of chocolate chips. That is not a bad thing but most of the recipes also call for boiling water to melt the chips. Since you also have to add ice cubes to cool the mix down, I think that is just too much water for most smoothie drinkers. Not so in he case of this Chocolate Almond smoothie.
This recipe is almost too easy to make and will provide all the chocolate taste you need!
In your favorite smoothie blender mix:
- 1 Tbsp. Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1 Tbsp. almond butter (also unsweetened)
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 frozen banana (peel and slice BEFORE freezing!)
- 1 Tbsp. Chia seed (optional)
Not a bit of water to dilute the goodness! Garnish with a cherry or two if you are feeling really festive.
