cranberry orange smoothie

Oranges are a great fruit choice. They are low in calories, have no saturated fat or cholesterol, and are very rich in fiber. Of course they are also a very tasty source of Vitamin C as well. But, most of all, oranges just taste great and this Cranberry Orange smoothie recipe is a great example. And, just to make everything more interesting, we’ll throw in some Raspberry sorbet!

Its also easy to turn this Cranberry Orange smoothie treat into a super nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of either Chia seed or Flax seed. We like Chia because it adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results. However, many do prefer Flax and it is perfectly fine to use it here.

In your favorite blender mix:

1/2 cup fresh cranberries
1 cup Cranberry juice
1 1/2 cup fresh orange sections
1 Tbsp frozen Orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup raspberry sorbet
1 Tbsp. Chia seed or Flax seed
