Egg Smoothie!

As you may imagine I spend a lot of time poking around the web looking for smoothie ideas we haven’t thought of. This Egg smoothie recipe is a very interesting find. I found it at pamsmith.com but she doesn’t call it a smoothie, her preferred name is “power shake”. Whatever. To us here, it is a really interesting smoothie! So, with a tip of our collective hats to Ms. Smith for a great idea, here is her recipe:

  • 1/4 cup “eggbeaters” or pasteurized egg whites
  • 1 cup milk skim or soy
  • 2 Tbsp. nonfat dry milk
  • 1 Tbsp. natural honey
  • 1/2 cup frozen fruit of your choice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp. wheat germ
  • 1 Tbsp. Chia Seed

You can find Ms. Smith’s original recipe right here. But the only change we made was to use Chia seed instead of a Tbsp. of ground flaxseed. Oh, and we used fresh Blueberries as our fruit. It was delicious!
