I think that smoothies are unique in their ability to mix both vegetable and fruits successfully. One example is this fruit and veggie smoothie that brings together Mango, Romain Lettuce and Ginger. What is surprising is not that it tastes good, but that the taste is even better than you expect it to be.

The Mango and Oranges bring a tropical flair, the lettuce adds some subtle taste and texture to the mix and the ginger root spices up the whole thing for a fruit and veggie smoothie treat you won’t soon forget. If your thing is trying some new combinations, then this combo deserves your attention in the very near future.

Its also easy to turn this smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.

In your favorite blender mix:

1 mango, peeled and pitted
2 oranges, peeled and deseeded
Handful of romaine lettuce, chopped
1/2 inch of fresh ginger root, grated
1 Tbsp.chia seeds
1 cup filtered water
