This is a healthy fruit smoothie that’s easy to make and a delight to drink. Guava sort of flies under the radar but the fruit is gaining in popularity. They are nutrition rich and have a very unique taste that mix really well in a lot of smoothie recipes.
This very healthy fruit smoothie can be made even more so simply by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed to the mix. Unlike flax seed, Chia has no taste of its own so it won’t change the unique Guava taste. Chia also has a very wide nutritional footprint, bringing both antioxidants and hearth healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids.
In your favorite blender mix:
1 Guava *
1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced
1 cup Orange juice
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp. Chia seed
Ice to taste
* Cut the guava and remove the pulp before blending
