I confess that I am something of a coffee snob. I just love the stuff and am partial to the coffee and chicory blends found in Louisiana. In no way am I a fan of Folger’s brand coffees. I don’t think that I have tasted them all but those that I have tried just haven’t done it for me. Or at least until I tried an Iced coffee smoothie recipe using Folgers “Black Silk Coffee” blend. It is just great and one I think you will like too.
Make no mistake, this Iced Coffee smoothie isn’t one you would use on any kind of a diet, there isn’t much low calorie about it. Instead, this smoothie recipe is for those (like me) who love coffee. This recipe is a treat to have when you want to treat yourself to something really good and you don’t care at all about calorie content.
How to make an iced coffee smoothie
The first step is to brew up some Folgers Black Silk coffee. This is a pretty strong coffee so don’t drink any right before bed! Set aside and allow to cool.
Then, in your favorite blender mix:
- 1/2 cup previously cooled Black Silk coffee
- 1/2 cup milk (your choice of style, whole, 2%, whatever)
- 1 rounded Tbsp. Instant Vanilla pudding (this will sweeten things up a bit)
- 1 Tsp. Granulated sugar (or more, depending on how sweet you want it)
- 1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced
- Ice to Taste
If you really don’t care about calories, top this sinful treat with some whipped cream and sprinkle with shaved chocolate. It doesn’t get too much better than this!
