A lemon strawberry smoothie recipe blending sweet strawberries with tart and tangy lemonade. The resulting mix is really refreshing and very satisfying.
Eating a healthy diet is always important and, while this mix is pretty healthy on its own, it can be made even more so just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a noticeable taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious Lemon strawberry results. In your favorite blender mix:
- -5 large strawberries (fresh is best but frozen is fine)
- -1 carton fat-free frozen strawberry yogurt
- -1/2 cup sugar-free lemonade (I like Crystal Lite)
- -1 Tbsp. Chia seed
Blend until you get the consistency you prefer and serve. Makes a single serving. If you want to sweeten a bit, in case the strawberries are not as sweet as you like add one pack of a sugar substitute or two teaspoons of honey
