This Mango Orange smoothie is a great example; with just two ingredients, it is one of the simplest recipes around and is both refreshing and satisfying. I suggest this one as a mid day meal replacement, or even a dessert on a warm evening.

Almost everyone likes the tart and refreshing taste of Oranges and they mix well with any number of other ingredients to make a wide variety of very interesting and satisfying orange smoothie recipes.

Its also easy to turn this Mango Orange smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of either Chia seed or flax seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results. However, if you prefer Flax to Chia they work well too.

In your smoothie blender mix:

  • 1 cup of frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup of orange-mango sherbert or sorbet
  • 1 tbsp. Chia seed or Flax seed
  • Orange slice and fresh strawberry for garnish

To make this smoothie even more of a treat put your glasses in the freezer to chill before serving.
