Matcha Green Tea Smoothie

Matcha Green Tea is developing quite a following among groups as diverse as bodybuilders and organic food fans. The word “Matcha” (also spelled “maccha”} is given to a very finely milled or powdered green tea. According to an unsourced statement on Wikipedia; “Matcha is a fine-ground, powdered, high-quality green tea and not the same as tea powder or green tea powder” You can read the page here.

Now, about the smoothie!

With all the nutritional benefits the Matcha green tea provides there isn’t a lot more you really need to do other than make it really good! And we think this recipe does that well.

In your favorite blender mix:

  • 1 cup milk (Almond, Rice, whole, 2%, etc.)
  • 1 Tbsp Matcha Green Tea Powder
  • 1 previously frozen banana (peel and slice BEFORE freezing!)
  • 1/2 cup chopped Mango
  • 1 Tbsp Chia seed

Everything goes in the blender at one time, mix it up and enjoy! Isn’t the rich green color wonderful?
