A nectarine is a fruit very similar to a peach, but a bit heartier with a smoother flavor, juicy and often quite sweet. A nectarine is also a good source of vitamin C.
This spring when you find them in the store, bring home a few and make a smoothie for desert in place of peach pie!
Adding Chia seed is optional but it won’t change the taste if you do and Chia will deliver even more nutritional value including heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
Mix in your smoothie blender:
-3 nectarine, peeled and de-stoned
-1 cup of frozen banana chips
-1 cup of low-fat vanilla frozen yogurt
-1 tablespoon Chia Seed
