Pineapples have exceptional juiciness along with a strong sultry flavor that balances the tastes of sweet and tart. They’re second only to bananas as America’s favored tropical fruit. Even though the season for pineapples runs from March through June, they are available all year long in local markets. This smoothie recipe takes full advantage of this favorite fruit by combining it with Peaches which creates an absolutely delicious Pineapple Peach Smoothie
You can use either fresh, frozen or canned fruits for this very tasty smoothie recipe.
Mix in your favorite blender:
1 cup of peach slices
1 cup of pineapple chunks
1 cup of low-fat Greek yogurt (vanilla, peach or pineapple favored)
(optional)1 Tbsp. Chia seed
If you use frozen peach and pineapple chunks the texture should probably be a nice consistency. If however you use fresh fruits, you might need to add a few ice cubes to smooth out the mix. The texture and ripeness of the fruit is what determines the consistency. If you use canned fruits, be sure to drain them and it is a good idea to refrigerate first so the fruit is nice and chilled before mixing.
