Pistachios aren’t the most traditional smoothie ingredient but they are very helpful in reducing LDL (bad) cholesterol levels as well as being rich in Thiamine, Vitamin B6, and Phosphorus. This Pistachio banana smoothie will taste great and be healthy at the same time.
In your favorite blender mix:
1 container plain or vanilla nonfat yogurt
- 1 container plain or vanilla nonfat yogurt (Greek yogurt works well)
- 2-3 oz pistachio instant pudding mix
- 1 frozen banana peeled and sliced (TIP Peel and slice BEFORE FREEZING!)
- 1/4 cup of skim or no fat milk
- Ice to taste
- 1 Tbsp. Chia seed
Instead of putting everything in the blender and giving it a go, put everything except the ice, blend and see what the consistency is. You can always add ice if you need it.
