Raspberries are a fruit that you either love or not. There doesn’t seem to be much of a middle ground at all. This raspberry banana smoothie recipe makes good use of raspberries and other good stuff. Personally, I like raspberries and have used this smoothie both as breakfast and as a snack.
Its also easy to turn this Banana smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.
1 frozen banana (peel and slice before freezing!)
1 1/2 cups soy or almond milk
1 cup frozen or fresh raspberries
8 oz. low or no fat vanilla yogurt
1 tbsp. Chia seed
