The Acia fruit comes from a species of palm tree that is native to both South and Central America. In the last several years many claims have been made that the Acia fruit promotes weight loss and other benefits as well. I can’t speak to any of that but I can say that this Acia Berry smoothie recipe uses a commercially available Acai yogurt from Yoplait and it really has a good taste and it probably belongs in your collection of smoothies for weight loss.
When Acia Berry is mixed with these other ingredients this recipe provides you with a very satisfying, and healthy, breakfast or snack.
The recipe also calls for a tablespoon of Chia seed as an optional ingredient. If you do choose to add Chia, you will be including a great deal of extra nutritional value including heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids. Chia has no taste of its own so adding it won’t change the taste results of the recipe at all.
- 1 cup of Yoplait Blueberry Acai Yogurt
- 1/2 cup of cold Cran•Energy™ Cranberry Pomegranate Juice
- 1/2 cup of frozen banana chips
- 1 cup of frozen strawberries
- 1 tbsp. Chia seed
