Most spinach smoothie recipes will include a fruit or two (and sometimes more) for variety, nutrition and great taste. This recipe follows that practice and blends in both apples and pears.
When added nutrition is your goal, add in a tablespoon of either Chia or Flax seeds. We prefer Chia because it doesn’t have much of a taste on its own. This lets it disappear into the blend. But, its your choice and both are good.
In your smoothie blender mix:
– 2 pears, cored and cut in chunks (or 1 1/2 cup of canned pears)
– 1 apple, cored and cut in chunks
– 2 cups fresh spinach
-¼ teaspoon cinnamon
-¼ to 1/2 cup of cold apple juice
-(Optional) 1 Tbsp. Chia or flax seed
-Ice to taste
Depending on the strength of your blender you might want to feed the pear and apple chunks in a bit at a time so as not to bog down the blades.
