Strawberries and chocolate are two flavors that are just simply made for each other. For a perfect example, try this Strawberry Chocolate smoothie as an afternoon snack or even an after dinner dessert. If you want to add additional nutrition to this smoothie, add the optional tbsp. of Chia seed. Chia has no real taste of its own and so will disappear into the other flavors while adding a whole range of vitamins and nutritional value including omega-3 fatty acids.
Serve with a garnish of mint or a strawberry
- 1 cup chocolate milk (low fat if you wish)
- 1/2 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 previously frozen banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 tbsp. Chia seed
- Ice to taste
