This Strawberry Kiwi smoothie recipe can be enjoyed year-around by using frozen fruit when fresh is out of season.
To add more nutritional value to your strawberry kiwi smoothie add a table spoon of Chia seed. Chia seed provides a wide range of nutrients including important heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Best of all Chia has no real taste of its own so it will just disappear into this strawberry kiwi smoothie while still providing a nutritional windfall.
In your favorite blender mix:
– 1 cup of whole strawberries-or ½ bag (10 ounces frozen)
– 2 peeled kiwis (or 1 cup frozen pieces)
– 1 cup of cold low-fat vanilla or strawberry yogurt
– ¼-1/2 cup of cup cold milk (soy, evaporated or 2%) depending on the consistency of the fruit
– 1 tablespoon Chia seed
