If you have been cursed with a sweet tooth you are constantly fighting temptation while still trying to maintain a healthy diet. Well, this strawberry lemon smoothie is an answer you can count on. Very low in calories but very robust in taste and satisfaction, you can enjoy one of these almost as oftern as you wish.
Its also easy to turn this tempting smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.
In your favorite blender mix:
1 lemon without peel, seeded
1 previously frozen banana, (peel and slice before freezing)
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup filtered water
1 tsp. sweetener (stevia, truvia, ect.)
1 tbsp. Chia seed
Ice to taste
