But this smoothie recipe is far less fattening than an actual strawberry muffin, this strawberry muffin smoothie recipe uses rolled oats to provide a taste much like a muffin but without the sugar and other bad stuff.
Its also easy to turn this strawberry smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.
In your smoothie blender mix:
-1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced (TIP: Peel and slice BEFORE FREEZING!)
-1/4 cup rolled oats
-1 cup strawberries (frozen or fresh)
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-4 oz. almond milk
-1 tbsp. Chia seed
