This strawberry smoothie recipe comes from annies-eats.net. In the original recipe, she used ground flax seed but, if you have been following us for any time at all, you know that we really prefer Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia seed doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.
Regardless whether you use Flax, Chia, or none this is a really good strawberry smoothie recipe. Strawberries are probably the most popular of all smoothie recipe ingredients after bananas so this recipe creates a basic and healthy smoothie that lends itself to being modified in any number of ways.
As any smoothie lover will say it is the freedom to mix so many different ingredients that aren’t usually found together that makes smoothies such a unique menu item.
So let your creativity loose and use this basic berry smoothie recipe to start something that is uniquely yours and yours alone!
