Obviously we are fans of pretty much all fruits and most veggies. But we never considered a fruit party before.

That was before we were poking around on Vimeo anyway.

We found this silly and fun animation video of a very intense fruit party and thought it should be shared.

There’s no recipe here at all, just a fun minute and a half.

Enjoy!

sweet strawberry pineapple smoothie

If we are completely honest with ourselves we would agree that almost everyone has something of a “sweet tooth”. For sure, some of us have a big one (me) while others, not so much. But, at some time everybody has a taste for something on the sweet side.

That’s where this sweet strawberry pineapple smoothie shines! Overall, this smoothie is loaded with fruit nutrition as well as really good dairy.

The next time your sweet tooth makes itself known, try feeding it with this delicious and easy to make recipe.

In your favorite blender mix:

  • 1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup Pineapple juice
  • 1 cup milk (your choice of type)
  • 1/2 cup Greek vanilla yogurt
  • 2 tbs. sweetener (your choice, but normal sugar has only about 48 calories per tbs.)
  • Ice to taste (If you used frozen strawberries, you will probably need less ice to smooth out the mix)

Everything goes into the blender at the same time and gets mixed on a high speed until smooth.

strawberry breakfast smoothie

If you have poked around our site at all you know I try and provide a little something more than just the recipe and this post is no exception.

For this tidbit, I turned to Wikipedia for the low down on the word “breakfast” itself. This is what I found:

“The word literally refers to breaking the fasting period of the prior night. It has its origin in the Christian custom of fasting from food between the supper meal of one day and receiving Holy Communion the following morning (such a Eucharistic fast is still observed by Orthodox Christians, but is shortened to one hour before Mass for Roman Catholics).[2] Foregoing the natural craving to eat was seen as an act of self-denial that honors God, while strengthening the religious resolve and faith of the believer.”

The whole article can be found here.

Now, on to the Strawberry Breakfast Smoothie recipe:

  • 2 cups strawberries (fresh if possible, but frozen will work too)
  • 1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced (NOTE: Peel and slice the banana BEFORE FREEZING)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup orange juice (fresh if possible)
  • 2 Tbs. Chia seed (or flax)
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • Ice to taste( if you aren’t using frozen berries or banana, you will probably need more)

All ingredients go into the blender and blend on a higher speed until smooth.

This makes two full servings so cut in half if it’s just you!

The original recipe came from The Lemon Bowl.com and was recommended to us by a friend

Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie Recipe- Tastes Like Summer!

This Strawberry Kiwi smoothie recipe can be enjoyed year-around by using frozen fruit when fresh is out of season.

To add more nutritional value to your strawberry kiwi smoothie add a table spoon of Chia seed. Chia seed provides a wide range of nutrients including important heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Best of all Chia has no real taste of its own so it will just disappear into this strawberry kiwi smoothie while still providing a nutritional windfall.

In your favorite blender mix:

– 1 cup of whole strawberries-or ½ bag (10 ounces frozen)
– 2 peeled kiwis (or 1 cup frozen pieces)
– 1 cup of cold low-fat vanilla or strawberry yogurt
– ¼-1/2 cup of cup cold milk (soy, evaporated or 2%) depending on the consistency of the fruit
– 1 tablespoon Chia seed
