We first published this Irish green smoothie recipe in late 2010 and made the mistake of referencing St. Patrick’s Day in 2011 which, some thought, meant it was out of date.
While this Irish green smoothie recipe is now a few years old doesn’t in any way diminish either its flavor, its nutrition, or its Irish green color.
Nor does it need to be enjoyed only around St. Patrick’s day. You can easily enjoy this recipe any time of year.
In your favorite smoothie blender mix:
– 1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced (TIP: peel and slice BEFORE freezing!)
– 1 cup frozen green grapes
– 1 peeled kiwi, sliced
– 1 cup washed baby spinach
– 8 ounces lime yogurt
– 1/4 cup limeade
– 1 Tbsp. Chia seed
