As we have said before, Greek yogurt is neat stuff. It is normal yogurt that has been strained through a cloth (like muslin) which removes the water, sugar, and salts. What remains after the process is a yogurt that is much higher in protein and lower in fat. It also has a thicker consistency that works particularly well in smoothies. It works well with just about any fruit or vegetable smoothie ingredient and in this tomato and Greek yogurt smoothie mix we have gone for tomatoes.
If you are a fan of tomatoes, this recipe is a real treat.
In your favorite blender mix:
1 full cup sliced tomatoes (either beefsteak or cherry)
1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
1 cup soy milk
1 tbsp honey
1 Tbsp. Chia Seed Optional, but it won’t change the taste of the smoothie and brings a whole lot of nutrition along.
