Tomatoes are rich with antioxidants and are really a good veggie to use for making healthy tasty smoothies. Mix the following ingredients, and enjoy a healthy tomato apple smoothie snack after working out or to beat the “3:00 slump.” T

Its also easy to turn this Tomato Apple smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.

In your favorite blender mix:

– 2 cups (chopped) tomatoes
– 1 apple cored, seeded and cut in chunks
– 1/2 cup chilled V8 Juice
– 1/4 cup apple juice
– 1 teaspoon of Chia seed

Blend well, pour into a chilled glass and add a tall celery stalk to munch on too.
