Mom always told me that honesty is the best policy. To honor that homily, I have to admit this ” turmeric smoothie ” recipe uses a whole lot of other ingredients. I just liked the name!
For the uninitiated, turmeric is an Asian spice from the ginger family. For more complete information the Wikipedia page is here.
For our purpose here suffice to say the spice adds a unique and tasty twist to an otherwise pretty traditional smoothie recipe.
In your favorite smoothie blender mix:
- 1/2 cup frozen banana, peeled and sliced (TIP: peel and slice the banana BEFORE FREEZING!)
- 1/2 cup sliced Mango
- 1 cup shredded Coconut
- 1/2 tsp. ground Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp. honey
- OPTIONAL: Pinch Sea Salt or Pepper
- Handful Ice cubes
Everything goes into your blender and is mixed until smooth. There is a bunch of stuff here and not a lot of liquid so add more ice cubes if you want to.
