Just because you are on a diet does not mean you need to go without smoothies! Below are two low carb smoothies recipes to bring a bit of sunshine into your diet.

A lot of dieters have a lot of success with low carb diets but often want something a bit different to break things up. Here are two low carb smoothies recipes that will help with the monotony without breaking your diet!.

Chocolate-Avocado Smoothie

  • 1 avocado, skinned and pitted
  • 1 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup cream (want lower calories? Try skim or 2% milk instead)
  • 3 tsp. preferred sweetener (splenda, equal, etc.)
  • 8-10 ice cubes

Everything into your trusty smoothie blender at once and blend until smooth. Add ice if needed to achieve your preferred consistency.

Coconut-Strawberry Smoothie

  • 1 cup cold coconut milk
  • 1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Chia seed
  • 8-10 ice cubes

Just like the Chocolate-Avocado smoothie, everything into your blender at the same time and blend until smooth. If too thick, add a couple more ice cubes.

These are just a couple of low carb smoothies and there are a lot more you can try.
