New Year’s Day (or any day!)
Smoothies are somewhat unique in that they allow a whole universe of different ingredients be combined in a glass. Sometimes, these mixing brings together very different tastes you wouldn’t normally think to combine (think Kale and Blueberries for example). Other times, smoothies put together ingredients that harmonize with each other perfectly (like Strawberries and Bananas).
This simple Vodka smoothie falls in between; on one hand, it brings together some standard fruit smoothie ingredients. On the other hand, it also includes enough vodka to let you know this isn’t your normal breakfast smoothie recipe.
Our personal favorite vodka is Russian Standard but there are any number of other choices that will work equally well.
In your favorite blender mix:
- 2 cups Orange Juice
- 1/2 cup Strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 cups Orange Sherbet (Lemon is good too!)
- 3/4 cup Vodka (For us, this was the right blend. Your may be more, or less)
- 1 cup crushed ice (If you keep your vodka in the freezer, you won’t need as much ice)
Blend everything together at the same time and enjoy!
