We made a smoothie last week with bananas, carrots and orange. You can change the flavor for another healthy snack ideas just by changing the juice that you use. In this case, if you add cold apple juice, you will be surprised at how refreshing this smoothie mix is. Perfect after that morning walk.
The recipe calls for a tablespoon of Chia seed as well. This is optional but, if you do choose to use it, Chia will add a lot more nutrition to the mix including heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. And Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it won’t hide the results of the apple juice, bananas, and carrots.
All you have to do is mix in your smoothie blender:
-1 cup of banana chunks (fresh or frozen)
-1 cup of carrot chunks (raw or gently steamed)
-1 tbsp. Chia seed
-1 cup of chilled apple juice
