Bananas are very popular in smoothies for a couple of reasons. First, they are rich in potassium and also because they provide consistency in any number of mixes and, lastly, because they mix well with just so many other ingredients. In this banana smoothie recipe with yogurt they are combined with vanilla yogurt (or ice cream if you want a real treat) to produce a healthy and satisfying treat.
Its also easy to turn this easy to make banana smoothie recipe with yogurt into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.
