This banana smoothie recipe is available anytime of year. Even in the winter most of us can find delicious apples at the store or fruit stands. And, always keeping in mind “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” most of us buy them pretty much automatically. The same goes for bananas. Thanks to the global economy fresh bananas are available all year. Together, these two ingredients come together for a very tasty and very healthy banana smoothie. Or, you could call it an apple smoothie too I guess. Regardless of the name I am pretty confident you are going to enjoy it!
Tomorrow morning mix things up a bit and combine a tart apple with fresh orange juice and and a previously frozen banana. The resulting smoothie will certainly wake you up and keep you going all the way to lunch.
In your favorite blender mix:
- 1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced (TIP: peel and slice BEFORE FREEZING)
- Tart Granny Smith green apple peeled, cored and cut in chunks
- Full cup fresh orange juice
