Blueberry Banana Coconut Smoothie
Adding fruit smoothies to your meal plan is maybe the best way to add fruit (and veggies too) to your diet. If you have wondered how much fruit you should eat the USDA has an answer: If you are eating 1,400 to 1,800 calories daily a good amount is 1 1/2 cups daily. If your calorie intake is higher, 2,000 to 2,500, they up that to 2 cups daily.
Regardless of how much fruit you choose to put in your diet, this very tasty Blueberry banana Coconut smoothie mix is a fun way to get them.
In your favorite blender mix:
- 2 cups of berries–blueberries are great to use in this recipe
- 1 frozen banana (TIP: peel and slice the banana BEFORE you freeze it)
- 1 cup of plain low-fat Greek yogurt (or if you love coconut as much as I do, use low-fat coconut yogurt)
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk; try So Delicious™ Coconut Milk Beverage, it is wonderful!
- 1 Tbsp.Chia Seed
