According to Wikipedia, a “berry” is a “fleshy fruit produced from a single ovary… The berry is the common type of fleshy fruit…”. And they are the focus of this berry smoothie recipe.
As we have it here, this recipe makes use of a little bit of three different berries, The beauty of smoothie recipes is you can fiddle with them without ruining anything. So, if you are partial to blueberries over strawberries feel free to make that change. Or, if you want, add grapes to the mix as well. It’s really up to you!
In your favorite blender mix:
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- quarter cup strawberries
- quarter cup raspberries
- 1 cup cold Orange juice (Fresh is best, otherwise watch the sugar)
- Tbs. honey
- 1 Tbs. Chia seed
Next mix in the blender until it is your favorite consistency! If you use frozen fruits you won’t need to add ice, but if you are using fresh fruits you might need to add some ice to blend your smoothie to a smoother texture.
