Carrot smoothies are always healthy and very often include different fruits for different sources of nutrition. And, of course, great taste! This carrot smoothie recipe adds banana and apples as well as some low fat yogurt.
If you choose to add even more nutritional value to your smoothie add a tablespoon of either Chia or Flax seed. I prefer Chia over flax because it has very little taste of its own and will “disappear” into the mix.
In your favorite blender mix:
-1 previously frozen banana, peeled and sliced (TIP: peel and slice BEFORE FREEZING)
-1 apple seeded and sliced
-2 cups cold carrot juice
-1 cup of low-fat Greek vanilla yogurt
-(optional) 1 tbsp. Chia or Flax seed
If your blender isn’t the strongest its a good idea to feed the frozen banana and apple slices in a bit at a time.
