Now this Cherry Banana smoothie is an easy one! Not only the perfect afternoon snack, but it is also perfect for dessert! You can use fresh bing cherries, frozen or even canned!
To make your recipe even more healthy and nutritious, throw in a tablespoon of Chia seed when you mix. Chia will bring a lot of valuable nutrition including important heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so you won’t be changing the results of this tasty treat!
In your favorite blender nux:
1/2 cup of yogurt (vanilla, cherry or banana)
1 cup of pitted cherries
1/2 cup milk (soy, 2% or lowfat)
(optiona) 1 tbsp. Chia seed
In your blender mix all of the ingredients for about a minute or so. If you are making it for a holiday desert, you might want to add a drop of red food coloring, and top with a cherry, just for fun!
Remember–if your smoothie is too thick, just add a few ice cubes and it will make it colder and thinner.
