Cherries are a good source of Vitamins A and C and potassium  and when you add a scoop of protein and Chia it’s the perfect smoothie to drink after a morning workout!  Tomorrow, try this delicious Cherry Blast smoothie.

To add even more nutritional value to this very tasty smoothie add a tablespoon of Chia seed to the mix. Unlike flax, Chia seed has no taste of its own so including it in the mix won’t dilute or modify the delicious Cherry taste at all. Chia adds a whole range of nutritional goodness to your smoothie including the important cholesterol fighting, heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids.

In your favorite blender mix:

  • 1 cup of fresh cherries
  • 1 scoop protein powder (soy, or your choice)
  • 1 cup of pure orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp Chia seed
  • 2 Tbsp  of honey
  • Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until the desired consistency is reached.
