A Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie just might be the perfect treat for an afternoon snack! You will love it–but not as much as your kids!
Speaking of kids, turn this delicious smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results. You will know how healthy it is but the kids won’t have clue.
In your favorite blender mix:
One medium ripe banana or 3/4 cup of frozen banana chips
2 Tbs. Hershey’s Dark Chocolate syrup
2 Tbs. Peanut Butter
3/4 cup of milk (2%, Low-fat, soy)
1 Tbsp. Chia seed
Add a few ice cubes if you need to thin out your smoothie. Ice might be needed if you are using fresh fruit or, the type of milk you choose. For an over the top chocolate experience, sprinkle with chocolate shavings or chocolate chips!
